Here are three of the biggest things that tend to scare clients away. This are also unfortunately very common issues that many find can hurt their business.

Duration of Contracts

Contracts can be a scary thing for any client. These binding agreements can mean a lot of commitment and a lot of money for any type of client. With this in mind, make sure that you are paying close attention to the duration of the contracts that you present to your clients. Are they a reasonable duration, or are they far too long? If your contract lengths tend to be on the long side, this can be scaring clients away and preventing them from signing on the dotted line. It is much easier to have a client sign a shorter term contract and then make sure that you deliver on your promises so they resign again, then risk having a client walk away because they are uncomfortable with the duration of your agreement.

Unclear/Odd Pricing Structures

Before a client signs up to work for you, one of the biggest questions they will typically have is about the pricing. You need to be upfront and clear about the pricing of your services otherwise you will scare your clients away. There are so many people who develop apprehension about a potential business deals to begin with. When the pricing is unclear, many people become skeptical about the business agreement and what it will entail. Keep things straightforward, clear and easy to understand, the more upfront you are about your pricing structure, the better off you will be. Make sure that you even follow up with a client or potential client about your pricing structure so you can make sure it is clear for them.

Not Making it Easy to Contact You

If you want to secure a client and make sure that they can contact you. It really is as simple as that. You need to be available to your clients and contacts as much as possible. It may seem like a nuisance to you, but it is more than worth it in order to get the type of clients that you want. You need to provide your clients with a reliable emails and phone number so they have multiple avenues to get in touch with you. Yes, there will be clients that abuse this privilege, but for most clients, it simply shows them that you are committed to being there for them and that you are a reliable individual to partner with.
